Tanya Salewski has spent the past 23 years working on global health and development programming, with a particular interest in reproductive, maternal and child health, and health systems. Prior to joining Mama na Mtoto, she was the team leader for Aga Khan Foundation Canada’s health program in Africa and Asia. Tanya has also led global health initiatives with the Canadian Nurses Association and the Canadian Public Health Association, spent several years with UNICEF in Botswana, and has also lived and worked in Pakistan. She has experience working with Canadian organizations, local institutions, country governments and UN agencies across fifteen countries in Africa, Asia and Central America. She holds a BA in history from Queens University, Canada, and an MA in International Development Studies from the University of East Anglia in the UK.
